Cargo Crating builds durable custom wooden crates to protect your valuable cargo. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide smart crating solutions for all your shipping needs - big or small. Not only do we create something that will be cost effective for our customers, but will also maintain the integrity of the item. All export crates are labeled with the necessary shipping instructions and international warnings. Crates can also be labeled with your company logo or any promotional signage if desired.

Skeleton crates

Skeleton crates are frames of wood with no sheathing. The contents inside are visible, and are usually created to transport more durable items such as heavy machinery that do not need any surface protection.

Open crates

This type of crate is constructed using wooden planks as the exterior sheathing. There are usually spaces within the planks to provide enough ventilation to prevent produce from spoiling.

Closed crates

This type of crate is completely enclosed and has no openings. They are great for transporting material that needs to be contained in a specific area without the risk of spillage or damage from external elements.

Foam and cushioning

Once your shipment leaves the facility, it is subjected to harsh conditions caused by railroad tracks, uneven roads, crashing waves and even air turbulence. At Cargo Crating, we provide a wide range of cushioning foams for every application. From custom designed contours to fully lined crates, we provide optimal protection while considering your budget and needs. 

Barrier bags

Items shipped by sea container can face weeks to months of uncertain storage conditions at sea, or in shipyards and storage facilities. Sealable barrier bags are one of the most effective wrapping and packaging solutions available to protect against air and moisture damage caused by rain, humidity, moisture condensation, salt spray and other harmful or corrosive agents capable of penetrating exterior packaging. With the addition of desiccant prior to sealing sensitive surfaces and electrical components, they can be protected from damaging corrosion while in transit. We are experienced in calculating the proper amount of desiccant required before final crating, whether at our facility, or yours.

POLy/VCI FILM

Poly film protects your cargo from water and debris while having UV resistant properties. This is a cost effective way to add another layer of protection! VCI Poly takes it a step up by providing corrosion protection. The chemical compound within the VCI poly releases an odorless, non-toxic invisible barrier on to metal surfaces to prevent oxidation. When the VCI poly is removed the barrier dissipates leaving your cargo unaffected!

We understand that moving or packaging your cargo can be a daunting and costly task. Let our trained professionals do the work for you, on-site. 
 

Loading

Whether by air, land, or sea, we can assist you with making sure your cargo is safe and secure while in transit. We provide the necessary blocking and bracing using firm straps or banding to protect your cargo.  Maintaining a high level of quality, care and attention to detail is our priority. 

Reconditioning

Occasionally crates can get damaged during the shipping process. If possible, our experts will reconstruct your crate to extend its life and use. Reconditioning is a cost effective solution and we always try our best to provide the most value to our customers.
